The level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) is a UK Ofqual accredited course, designed for learners to increase their knowledge and develop an understanding of first aid at work to obtain a fulfilling career in the field of health and social care.
The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) is a completely online, UK OFQUAL-accredited qualification. It aims to increase and develop learners’ knowledge and skills in first aid at work. In achieving this Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF), all learners will cover the basics of first aid including roles and responsibilities, incident assessment and managing and administering first aid to casualties in a variety of situations. You are not required to have any prior qualification or experience to start this course, just an appetite for learning.
This qualification will prepare you to perform first aid at your workplace and will equip you with exceptional skills to perform safe and effective first aid on the people around you in an emergency. Potential learners can be from any field or sector, regardless of their expertise.
The level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) qualification is internally assessed by our qualified assessors and externally verified by the awarding organisation. The learner will be assessed through a recorded practical demonstration of 30 minutes in accordance with each LO (Learning Outcome). Once enrolled, you will receive tutor support on our online portal to assist you in achieving your goals.
Successful completion of this 100% accredited online course enables learners to proceed to the following:

Unit 2: Emergency Paediatric First Aid
There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification. However, the learners must be 16 years or above to get themselves enrolled in this course.

The level 3 first aid course is a comprehensive course that includes: principles of advanced primary emergency care in health emergencies for people in the workplace, sustaining an advanced level of preparedness to deal with emergencies in the workplace, and assessing and managing a multiple injured emergency.
The most likely courses for you would be the 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course (ideal for low risk environments such as offices), or the 3 day First Aid at Work course which is more suited to high risk environments (such as where there are higher numbers of staff, the staff are older & therefore more likely to have serious health problems at work), or where the nature of the work is such that injuries are more likely.

I have over 15 years’ experience in teaching and training. During this time, I have undertaken teacher training, been a lecturer and course supervisor for ICM, and cohort leader and lecturer for HND (BTEC-Pearson). I have taught business management units/modules at various levels (and awarding bodies) including Certificate, Diploma, Advance Diploma, and Foundation degree levels. I enjoy learning through continuous professional development and have achieved my Fellowship with the Higher Education Academy. I have had a long career in teaching, assessing, and quality assurance (both internal and external). I started my career in retail, and over a period of eight years, became a supermarket store manager, self-employed contracts manager and an area manager overseeing sixteen CTN stores. I stepped into Education commencing as an assessor then internal verifier. Within two years I was a qualified post sixteen teacher focussing on IT, quickly becoming a Microsoft Certified Engineer. Combining the role of teacher/assessor and IT Manager, whilst in the post of a local government officer, I supported a range of sector areas through delivery of apprenticeships and private courses. Since 2007 I have also worked for awarding bodies holding a position as External Quality Assurer for fourteen years and also becoming a technical expert in coaching mentoring and management.

I am an experienced practitioner with over 40 years’ service in the Post-16 education sector and am an acknowledged specialist and consultant in the principles and practices of competency-based vocational education and work-based learning awards [VET/WBL]. Over the last 30 years, I have developed and applied skills in the assessment and quality assurance of VET/WBL awards and held senior roles in the auditing of these. In parallel, I am an accomplished Senior Lecturer in the field of professional development and Initial Teacher Training across the post-16 curricula and have substantive and up-to-date experience of internally and externally quality assuring these programmes too.

I am an enthusiastic educationist who is a fellow of the higher education academy and I have completed my Doctorate of Business Administration. I worked as an accountant and business consultant up until 2017, where I started exploring my capabilities in academia and teaching. From that point, I haven’t looked back, and have gone from strength to strength. I am engaged in lecturing, assessment, and quality assurance in the areas of business administration, accountancy, marketing, and teacher training, where I can impart my teaching skillset onto my students.

I am a PhD candidate (passed viva) at the University of Essex. My specialisation in PhD is Entrepreneurship. I am an active researcher with specific interest in Entrepreneurship, SME, Marketing and UK Higher Education (UKHE). I have over 14 years work experience in UKHE, which includes extensive experience of quality assurance in the sector. Furthermore, providing academic training to teaching professionals in the higher education sector is my passion.

I have worked in education for 34 years, in various guises. I managed a busy nursery for 12 years before branching out into Assessment and Quality Assurance, more than 20 years ago. My practice has developed alongside the ever-evolving training and apprenticeship sector, and I have worked in many different settings, including colleges, private training agencies and a foster care agency. I also work part time as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant for a local charity that supports higher level education for young people with Special Educational and/or behavioural needs and as a tutor for a bespoke programme for one-to-one support. I really enjoy supporting learners of varying abilities and experience to achieve their best and to become qualified in their chosen field.
