Frequently Ask Questions

Who is this course for?

The focus award Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care (RQF) is designed for staff in a Senior Carer Role or who want to progress to a Junior Manager or Care Manager role. It is also suitable for students who are already working in care in a supervisory capacity or as a senior carer/ support worker.

What are the entry requirements?

You should be working in an industry-related role with suitable experience and it is recommended that you already hold a Level 3 qualification or above in a related area.

What is the time frame to complete the course?

On average most learners will complete it in 6-8 months. Some may take less depending on their personal circumstances and how much time they have to dedicate to the course. We will work at a pace that suits you. You will have full uncapped support for 12 months.

Do I have to take an exam?

It will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include witness testimony, reflective accounts along with supporting work products, a portfolio of evidence, professional discussion, and written assignments.

Do you offer payment plans for health and safety qualifications?

Yes, we offer flexible payment plans.

Why study one of our health and social care courses?

When you enrol with us, you’ll start a journey that’s enjoyable and enriching. Our online courses are created to be completed at any time and from any location. Additionally, we’ll not only provide course material but will also be there each step of the way with our unlimited tutor help.

How many credits are required to complete this course?

70 credits are required to complete this course.

What is a Witness Testimony in L4 Diploma in Adult Care?

Witness testimony is categorised as “supporting” evidence because it offers additional details in the form of an occupationally competent person’s statement of authentication, which confirms all pertinent facts about a learner’s workplace activities and attests to the learner’s competency in performing a skill or task. Some of the abilities that must be shown by the student in order to pass the course, including “Positive working relationships” or “motivate and encourage children and young people’s positive behaviour,” are particularly hard to back up with just documentation proof. As a result, an expert witness is required to present a written account of the learner’s performance at the workplace, accurately describing the activity conducted in comparison to the targeted assessment criteria, and attesting to whether these have been followed in the work context. In some units, witness testimony is required, and the relevant Assignment Guide will make this obvious. It should be emphasised that in addition to delivering the witness evidence, you will also need to write a reflective report.

What is a reflective account?

A reflective account is the supporting written evidence/ learner’s statement that indicates how the learner performed/performs the activity testified by the workplace supervisor, what went well and what did not, what you learnt and what you should have done. You also mention what strategies you will adapt for improvement. Please note that there is no separate document for writing a reflective account. Reflective account/learner’s statement is given in the same Assessment Brief document.
