1. DEFINITIONS
1.1
'We', 'Us' and 'BSHC' refer to Britannia School of Health Care and all its associated centres.
1.2
'You' refers to the learner receiving our services or a user browsing our website for a suitable course.
1.3
'Course' includes any accredited qualifications, continuing professional development (CPD) programme, or training event provided by BSHC.
2. OUR SERVICES
2.1
All courses offered by BSHC are accredited by reputable awarding organisations regulated by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). All our courses are formally recognised and listed on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), ensuring their level and size meet Ofqual's standards.
2.2
In consideration of the course fees paid, we agree to provide the course and associated services for the duration of the enrolment period. Upon successful completion and meeting the required standards set by the relevant awarding body, you will receive a certificate of qualification.
2.3
We reserve the right to refuse enrolment on any course we offer. Before enrolling, please carefully review the entry requirements for your chosen course to confirm you meet the eligibility criteria. Where required, you will need to provide supporting evidence such as certificates or identification documents for verification. If English proficiency is required, you will need to complete our English Proficiency Test or provide a recognised certification as proof.
2.4
We design our courses to meet the needs of employers and the wider sector, but we cannot guarantee that an individual employer or organisation will recognise a given course or qualification. It is your responsibility to ensure you choose a qualification that meets your specific needs before enrolling.
2.5
Upon enrolment, you will receive a welcome email containing your Moodle login credentials, a link to access the VLE, and the Moodle Guide for Students. You are required to complete and submit the Enrolment Form following the link provided in the email within 14 days of receiving the welcome email. Failure to submit the Enrolment Form within this timeframe may result in the temporary suspension of your course access on the VLE.
2.6
Courses are structured to support sequential learning. You are required to attempt one unit at a time, complete and submit the assignment for that unit, and only then proceed to the next unit. This process must be followed throughout the course, and you must not submit all units at once.
2.7
All assignments must be submitted through Moodle. As all our courses are self-paced, there are no fixed submission deadlines within your enrolment period.
2.8
All assignments are internally verified before results are confirmed on Moodle. If your work requires improvement, you will receive clear and detailed feedback along with sufficient time to make the necessary amendments. There is no limit on the number of resubmissions, provided you demonstrate genuine progress and engagement with the feedback given. Once your assignment meets the required standard, it will be marked as a Pass on Moodle.
2.9
BSHC takes academic integrity very seriously. Plagiarism, contract cheating, and the unethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in submitted work are all forms of academic misconduct. Where misconduct is identified, enrolment will be terminated without a refund. All learners are expected to comply with the plagiarism guidelines provided during induction.
2.10
You are required to keep copies of your coursework for up to three years from the date of completing your course.
3. COURSE DURATION, EXTENSIONS AND TRANSFERS
3.1
The maximum duration of your course is determined by the payment plan you select at enrolment. If you are unable to complete your course within this period, you are welcome to request an extension. An extension fee, as specified on the course page, will apply to cover system costs. If an extension is not requested and paid for, your access to the VLE will be temporarily suspended.
3.2
Please note that the maximum course duration refers to your access period within the agreed timeframe. There are no fixed submission deadlines within this period; however, if the one-year maximum is exceeded, re-registration with the awarding organisation will be required and the applicable re-registration fees will apply.
3.3
If there is no activity recorded on your account for more than 60 days and you have not made prior arrangements with us, your enrolment may be terminated. Any outstanding fees will remain payable, as our tuition fees are set to account for fixed operational costs.
3.4
If you are intending to take a break from your course for a period of three months or longer, you are required to notify us in advance.
3.5
In the event you cannot complete your course within the enrolment period due to a substantiated illness or personal circumstance, you may apply for a discretionary extension. To be considered, you must have notified us as soon as reasonably possible, provided appropriate supporting evidence, and demonstrated reasonable progress prior to the circumstances arising. Extensions in these cases are not guaranteed and may be subject to an additional fee. We are unable to consider refunds where a pre-existing health condition prevents you from completing the course in part or whole.
3.6
If we grant an extension to your course, due to the evolving nature of education, there may be differences to the course including changes to the specification or awarding body. Where this is the case, we will advise you of any material differences before you commit to the extension.
3.7
Courses cannot be transferred between categories. In exceptional circumstances where a transfer is approved by BSHC, no refund will be issued for the original course and all applicable tuition and awarding body fees for the new course must be paid in full.
3.8
BSHC reserves the right to change its delivery partners, awarding organisations, and accreditation bodies at any time. Where such changes are made, we will use our best efforts to ensure the educational outcomes of your course are unaffected. Refunds are not available in these circumstances.
4. FEES, PAYMENT AND INSTALMENT PLANS
4.1
All course fees must be paid in accordance with your selected payment plan before the course start date. We accept debit and credit card payments and bank transfers. All prices include VAT.
4.2
Where applicable, the Awarding Organisation Registration Fee is payable in addition to the course fee and must be paid within 20 days of enrolment to ensure your timely registration. This requirement will be clearly stated on the relevant course page.
4.3
Instalment plans are available for all courses and must be agreed upon at the time of enrolment. Direct debit is the preferred payment method. Your first instalment is due at enrolment, with subsequent payments scheduled on a fixed date each month. The awarding body registration fee is included within your instalment plan.
4.4
Once your first payment is made, you enter into a legally binding contract and the full course and registration fees become payable. Failure to make payments, including missing instalments, constitutes a breach of contract. BSHC reserves the right to recover any outstanding debt through legal means, and additional charges may be applied if debt recovery action becomes necessary. Access to course materials and services may be restricted until all outstanding payments have been settled.
4.5
If you are experiencing difficulty making payments, please contact us as soon as possible at
support@schoolofhealthcare.co.uk so that we can discuss the options available to you.
4.6
A £10 administrative charge will be applied per reminder email issued for late or missed payments. Please ensure your payment details are kept up to date to avoid unnecessary charges.
4.7
Certificates will only be issued once the course fee has been paid in full.
4.8
Promotional and discount codes are valid for specific periods only and are subject to expiry dates. Only one discount code may be applied per transaction and codes cannot be combined at checkout.
5. CANCELLATION, REFUNDS AND YOUR RIGHT TO CANCEL
5.1
All BSHC courses are delivered as digital content through our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) — Moodle. You are entitled to cancel your enrolment within 14 calendar days of purchase, provided you have not yet accessed the VLE or any course materials. Once access has been granted and course materials are available on your dashboard, your course is considered to have commenced and the right to cancel is waived.
5.2
By completing your enrolment and ticking the declaration at the point of purchase, you are giving your express consent to immediate access to the digital course content and acknowledging that your right to cancel will be lost once that access is granted. This is in accordance with Regulation 37 of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
5.3
To determine whether the VLE or course materials have been accessed, BSHC uses Moodle system logs and activity records. These records are considered conclusive evidence of access for the purposes of this policy. BSHC reserves the right to decline any refund request where access to the digital content has been confirmed, regardless of the extent to which the materials were used.
5.4
The learner registration fee is entirely non-refundable in all circumstances. We strongly advise that you do not register unless you are fully prepared and committed to proceeding.
5.5
Once the 14-day cancellation period has expired, or once the VLE has been accessed, you no longer have the right to cancel and no refund will be issued. Any outstanding instalments under your agreed payment plan remain payable in full.
5.6
All other charges, including late registration charges, postage charges, and replacement certificate fees, are non-refundable. Appeal and reassessment charges are refundable only if the appeal is upheld.
5.7
For purchases made through Reed: you may cancel within 14 days of purchase. If the voucher is redeemed within this period, course access will begin immediately and you will forfeit your right to cancel or receive a refund.
6. CERTIFICATION AND LEARNER RECORDS
6.1
You will be registered with the relevant Awarding Organisation within the specified timeframe following enrolment. Certification will only be issued once you have completed all required Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and achieved all learning outcomes in accordance with the qualification specification.
6.2
Completing your coursework ahead of schedule does not override any mandatory waiting or verification periods set by the Awarding Organisation. Certification timelines are governed entirely by the awarding body's policies and cannot be expedited by BSHC.
6.3
Prior to receiving your certificate, you may request us to issue a letter of completion. This is subject to internal and external quality assurance procedures and you may be required to provide further evidence before final grades and your certificate are confirmed. Failure to provide requested evidence promptly may delay certification.
6.4
Your course is delivered through Britannia School of Health Care and may be facilitated by one of our affiliated centres. As a result, the name displayed on your certificate may be that of an affiliated centre, such as Britannia School of Leadership and Management Ltd, rather than Britannia School of Health Care Ltd. This does not affect the course's Ofqual recognition or your statutory rights in any way.
6.5
A non-refundable administrative fee of £50 applies to all requests for replacement or duplicate certificates.
6.6
Courier and postage charges for certificate dispatch within the UK are included in your course fee. If a certificate is returned to us due to an incorrect address being provided, a redelivery fee will be charged.
6.7
It is your responsibility to inform BSHC of any changes to your personal details following enrolment, including your full name as it appears on your ID, contact number, personal email address, and correspondence address. Keeping your details up to date helps ensure that your certificate and important communications reach you without delay.
7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND COURSE MATERIALS
7.1
All course materials, resources, assignments, learning content, and any other materials produced or provided by BSHC through the VLE or otherwise are the intellectual property of Britannia School of Health Care and its affiliated centres.
7.2
You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, sell, resell, share, or exploit any part of the course materials or content, in whole or in part, without the express written permission of BSHC. This includes sharing materials with third parties, uploading them to any external platform, or using them for any commercial purpose.
7.3
Any breach of this clause will be considered a serious breach of contract and may result in immediate termination of your enrolment without a refund. BSHC reserves the right to pursue legal action to recover any losses arising from unauthorised use of its intellectual property.
8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
8.1
We are committed to delivering our services to you with a reasonable level of care and skill.
8.2
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits BSHC's liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot be excluded by law.
8.3
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BSHC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of our services, the VLE, or any course materials. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of earnings, loss of data, loss of opportunity, or loss of reputation.
8.4
Whilst we make every effort to ensure the VLE and associated services are available at all times, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. BSHC shall not be held liable for any disruption caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including technical failures, third-party service outages, or force majeure events including but not limited to acts of God, strikes, riots, epidemics, pandemics, or power failures.
8.5
Education by its nature changes over time. BSHC will not incur liability if a course changes or becomes unavailable due to the actions of an awarding body, a change in law, a widespread change in the sector, or any material change caused by a third party that could not have been reasonably foreseen.
8.6
Where liability cannot be excluded, BSHC's total liability to you shall not exceed the total course fee paid by you at the time the claim arises.
8.7
These Terms and Conditions set out the full extent of our obligations and liabilities in respect of the supply of the course and course materials.
9. DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY
9.1
BSHC complies fully with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulation. We are committed to protecting the confidentiality of all personal information held about our learners, employees, and users.
9.2
We will only collect and store the personal information required to provide you with our courses and services, administer your enrolment, and meet our legal obligations. Your information will be always kept confidential and secure.
9.3
We will only share your information with third parties where necessary to deliver the course and related services, or where you have given your explicit consent, or where we are required to do so by law. Full details of how we use your data are set out in our
Privacy Policy.
9.4
You have the right to request details of any personal information we hold about you, or to withdraw consent for its use. Please contact us at
support@schoolofhealthcare.co.uk to make either request.
10. TRANSFER OF RIGHTS
10.1
These Terms and Conditions are binding on you and Britannia School of Health Care and our affiliated bodies, and on our respective successors and assigns.
10.2
You may not transfer, assign, or otherwise dispose of your rights or obligations under these Terms and Conditions without our prior written consent.
10.3
BSHC may transfer, assign, charge, sub-contract, or otherwise dispose of its rights or obligations under these Terms and Conditions at any time.
11. ACCEPTABLE USE, BEHAVIOUR AND HARASSMENT
11.1

You are expected to respect the rights of BSHC, fellow learners, and staff at all times.
11.2
Unethical or inappropriate behaviour towards staff or fellow learners will not be tolerated. This includes threats, abusive language, or harassment via phone, email, or writing. BSHC reserves the right to unenrol learners who engage in such conduct.
11.3
Unenrolled learners will not receive a refund and any remaining instalments must still be paid in full.
11.4
If you experience any form of harassment or inappropriate behaviour from a member of our staff, please contact us immediately at
support@schoolofhealthcare.co.uk and your concern will be dealt with confidentially.
12. WEBSITE INFORMATION AND ACCURACY
12.1

12.2
Information on our website is provided for general guidance only and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for making enrolment decisions. We recommend that you contact our sales team to confirm any details before proceeding with a purchase.
12.3
BSHC reserves the right to update or amend any information on its website at any time without prior notice. Where a pricing or course detail error is identified after an order has been placed, we will contact you as soon as reasonably practicable to advise you of the correct information.
13. GENERAL
13.1
These Terms and Conditions, together with any documents expressly referred to in them, represent the entire agreement between you and BSHC in relation to the purchase of the course and related services and supersede any prior agreement, understanding, or arrangement between us, whether oral or in writing.
13.2
BSHC reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The most current version will always be published on this page. Your continued use of our website or services following the publication of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Where changes are significant, we will make reasonable efforts to notify learners by email.
13.3
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision will be severed and the remaining terms will continue in full force and effect.
13.4
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Britannia School of Health Care, its affiliated centres, directors, employees, and agents against any claims, losses, damages, costs, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms and Conditions, your misuse of the VLE or course materials, or your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.
13.5
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales. Both parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions.
