The completion time for the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) varies from 8 to 12 weeks to months, depending on the learner's prior knowledge, pace and level of commitment.
To successfully complete this qualification, the learner needs to meet the practical requirements of Unit 2 and Unit 3. For this, you must have access to two learners enrolled in recognised qualifications (such as RQF or NVQ). You must be able to plan, carry out, and review real-time assessment practices by assessing a minimum of two candidates in a workplace or training environment that delivers QCF or NVQ qualifications. You must demonstrate vocational skills and occupational competencies while working or being placed in a suitable setting.
Assessment is carried out in the form of an e-portfolio submitted to the tutor consisting of written assignments and evidence of demonstrations of assessment skills in both vocational and occupational working environments.
